Are any of you taking part in the UKIVas study? I have been asked to participate by my hospital. It is a vasculitis susceptibility and patient outcomes study.Would appreciate any comments. THANKYOU

Jeannette, you're more likely to find some participants in the HealthUnlocked Vasculitis community.  Sounds interesting though.

I volunteer with Vasculitis UK and have the opportunity to attend the UKIVAS meetings. Basically it's a large database of Vasculitis types, symptoms, treatments etc which helps with research into all types of Vasculitis. It is particularly beneficial for the rarer types of Vasculitis as when there are few patients and they are scattered about then it's difficult to get the evidence base for treatments. 

I would recommend that anyone with a Vasculitis diagnosis participates as it benefits us all in the end.

Anyone suffering with an illness that is given the opportunity to participate in a clinical trial, or a study etc - should grab it with both hands.

Clinical Trial participants are given first class, gold standard treatment.

Not only are you helping yourself, you are helping people in the future.

Go for it.
