Hi Peggy,
Sorry can't help you with any advise on your medication, but I can say there's bound to be someone on this forum who can, and will.
In the meantime, I'm thinking of you and wishing you well. Take care.
Dear Peggy, I am so sorry that you are having such a difficult time . I have no practical advice but just know that we care and understand better than some how hideous chronic pain is, especially when you have multiple causes for that pain. My only advice would be to find something-anything- that usually makes you feel good and do it as much as you can- e.g. warm bath, good film, book, music, chocolate, wrapping up in a duvet etc. this is all about feeding your senses in a positive way as opposed to the pain which feels so negative. Hope that might help. Sending a hug your way. X
Why "On oxynorm & tramadol"? If you have PMR that won't help much at all. I do appreciate the other problems but is there any good reason why you aren't on pred? If you are on pred and still need the other painkillers than you are possibly not on a high enough dose. It is also possible that the pain you have needs a more targeted approach but without knowing a bit more about your pains/problems it isn't possible to suggest anything.
Hi ......thank you for your reply I'm on oxynorm & tramadol for pain it dosent last long 2/3 hours at most ...what are pred.

You had posted on a site where the standard treatment is prednisolone - so we assumed you had one of the illnesses. Ordinary painkillers are no use to most of us, they do very little for our pain.
You need to talk to your doctors - and maybe get a referral to the pain clinic who can make informed suggestions for you to manage your pain. There are a lot of different ways of managing pain - tablets are just one. And the pain clinic are the experts.
Peggy, I am so very sorry to hear of all your troubles. I do believe you meant to post this on the forum for dialysis patients, however. I don't know if we polymyalgia patients can offer much useful advice. But rest assured that everyone here has some understanding of how difficult chronic disease is. I very much hope that you have some support from family or friends. Sometimes, as well, their intervention can help if the medical people are not giving you the particular care that you need 💕
Thank you so much for your kind words ......as I said I'm in a mess & probable on the wrong site Once again thank you .
Keep well
Peggy X
I have great empathy for you as I had a close family member undergoing dialysis for a long time. Although the procedure is necessary it makes one feel unwell, so it adds to the burden of the illness itself. Your health care team should be reminded that it is their job to help you feel better in yourself, to give you quality of life. All the best.
I have just finished a coarse of vitamin b12 injections for anaemia and I am so much better .......more active mentally and physically so hopefully you will start to improve after your treatment ........wish you all the best
Gareth
I've been having B12 for the last 13 years every 3months now, along with numerous medications ,I wish you continued Improvement .
Regards
