Dosing pred every other day?

Doc has me dosing 30mg pred every other day. Just diagnosed 4 weeks ago and been on this program a week. Has anyone had experience with this every other day dosing? Was a very active 53 year old male. A very wonderful wealth of knowledge here. Thanks to you all!

Rob, did you not see the replies from PMRpro and myself to your post on Lymes yesterday, including your query on alternate-day dosing? Here's the link in case you missed it:

Does the medical community do ACTH gel injections for PMR help?

Not that I have ever heard of - but why would they? PMR is not thought to be a adrenal malfunction problem in any case but even if it were the standard therapy for adrenal insufficiency is a maintenance dose of oral pred, usually about 5 to 10 mg/day.
