I had an acute episode of Sarcoidosis in the 1980s and diagnosed with PMR about 12 months ago with GCA following in January this year. Does anyone no of a link between the latter two and sarcoidosis ?

Well only really a link in that if you suffer/have suffered from any autoimmune disease where your immune system attacks itself, it is quite possible to succumb to another. I hope at least that your sarcoidosis is in remission or at least under control - PMR and GCA are more than enough to cope with.

Yes thank you my sarcoidosis was acute and really only lasted for about 16 weeks with residual fatigue for a further year

As Celtic says - once an autoimmune patient always one. The problem with the immune system doesn't get "cured", it goes into remission or remission is achieved with medication, burns out or however you want to describe it. At some later stage the sleeping dragon wakes up - but the result may not be the same as the first time round and the symptoms are different and are given a different name.

Thank you that makes sense. So many of the symptoms are the same
