Geater, I didn't suffer this whilst on steroids but did experience it many years ago and was found to have phlebitis, so definitely something you should check out with your GP.

Yes, Celtic is right - one to run past the GP. It really isn't a usual effect or either PMR or pred. Do you have any tender places on your leg? Is it all the time or just in relation to something, exercise for example?
