The book by Kate Gilbert - "Polymyalgia Rheumatica and Giant Cell Arteritis: a survival guide" - is available either as an e-book (Kindle) on Amazon (price £4.30) amzn.to/1ff8LA7, or in hardback by writing to BM PMRGCAuk, London, WC1N 3XX, enclosing a cheque for £7.99 (£5.99 for the book plus £2 postage and packing) together with a note giving the delivery address.

I would like to order the book. Is there no Street address? . . . . and who do I make the cheque out to? Thanks for your help.

I would just like to say that I am a newly diagnosed pmr. I read this book on my kindle. What a great informative read.

Heli and streibert, cheques should be made payable to PMRGCAuk. The address given above is the full address (there is no street address).

How long does it take for the book to arrive after a cheque has been sent?

Badgergirl - I posted off my cheque on 4th April and my book arrived yesterday, 30th April. Haven't had an opportunity to really delve into it yet, but it certainly appears to be something sorely needed and not before time.

Thanks Celtic. I posted mine off on 14th so I guess it takes a while. I have read it on Kindle but I want to lend a hard copy to people close to me as I keep being told I'm looking well. It describes perfectly how I really feel!

The northeast support group made a DVD called "You are not alone" to explain to friends and family what we go through and how PMR affects us. Their website is pmr-gca-northeast.org.uk

It costs £5 and is made by patients and healthcare professionals - it is excellent - even GPs learn from it.

I sent my cheque on 28th April and I haven't received the book yet. Does anyone know the phone number to ring them? Thanks

Heli, it will probably arrive any day now - mine took 30 days.

I ordered the paperback version of Amazon and it came the next day. It was 4.99
