Yes diet is the first thing, no tea/coffee,chocolate,fizzy drinks, alcohol, tomatoes, peppers or anything spicy. Seriously I have IC and within a couple of days I felt a lot better. Try it but be strict.

Will try this, anything to help me return to " normal". Do you work? I have been off sick for 4 months now.

Yes, I have been suffering with neuropathic pain due to a hysterectomy for 3 years. I also have bladder dysfunction and tremendous pain. I have been through years of various treatments including an interstim implanted. I was told my bladder pain was NOT IC. Well, found a new urologist and he said that it is. Recently I have come to understand that IC is also known as Painful bladder syndrome. He has put me on a series of Bladder distillations, Urobel and recommended PT. I agree with jacquieb, find out which foods trigger flare ups. Artificial sweeteners do it for me too. I had to stop working in December due to the pain. I am also on lots of pain meds which I hope I can decrease once the bladder symptoms improve.

Good luck, and keep searching for a doctor who can help!

Ive found some things that have worked for me from reading this site: interstitial-cystitis-alter...

Hope you find some help there too. For me it seems that Serrapeptase and Prelief have been helpful. Best of luck with your search.
