Hi, I have PCD, and have nose that was broken by debris during in war when I was 7 years old, so perhaps I’m not a good comparison. I alternate between having blocked nose, and one that needs blowing every few minutes, which I prefer. Not heard of post nasal drip. Jean x

Hi Frankie, I have always had a post nasal drip (PND) and find it very annoying! I have heard that some people find nasal cleansing (e.g. NeilMed) helpful but it doesn't work for me. My PND exacerbates my cough so doing proper breathing cycle exercises helps. I particularly do these before bed or if going out socially as it clears my sinuses and my chest for a while. Nasal sprays/decongestants can provide temporary relief but are not advised by clinicians.

Thank you for your help. I am already, doing this. Chest clearance, breathing cycle, Neilmed etc….not helping….. now have a air purifying…it’s a nightmare. I have an appointment on Tuesday with heartlands immunologist…let’s see, how it goes. I appreciate your time. Hope, you are ok🙂

How long have you had it?

Presumably since birth but only diagnosed in my early 29s, so about 40 years. I see you are from the West Midlands, I would be interested to know who you see at Heartlands and what they have to offer you. I am under a respiratory consultant at City Hospital, but only referred about 18 months ago - my GO has never been interested in my PVD.

Morning, my name is Nicola. I am seeing a respiratory consultant at Brompton. I have an appointment with heartlands, I am seeing them, as I have immune problems. Is you PND severe? I wish us both, good health and thank you for sharing your health issue. I hope, we can share knowledge, and in some way, is will help us. 🙂

Hi, just catching up! Bit puzzled, your seeing consultant at Brompton, that I think is London. Also have appointment at Heartlands, Birmingham. Heartlands is part of University Hospital, Queen Elizabeth, Birmingham. I’ve been patient at QE over 55 years, and it’s said to be leading hospital in Midlands. Best wishes, Jean x

I've lived with post nasal drip all my life. I have to use a Neil med sinus rinse every day and pirinase nose spray. Both help but doesn't cure. Dairy products don't help so don't

have milk. Hope this helps. Chris

Unfortunately I'm not that brilliant at the moment.I don't know whether its due to the death of my

husband as I was told grief sits in the lungs. He died

last year after a long illnes and I'm not the same any

more. I used to think my quality of life was good but

now diagnosed with osteoporosis. I take calcium

and will do weight bearing e xcercises and hope it helps!

So sorry your husband died last year. My husband died 5 years ago after 14 year battle with prostate cancer, and NHS. His death still affects me, and I warn every man I meet that the PSA blood test is totally unreliable. His PSA was very low when he died. Hope you can come to terms with his loss. Jean x

Hello Jean thank you for lovely words and I understand the death of your husband still affectsyou and it probably always will. My brother died

2 Christmases ago with prostate cancer and the doctors could never seem to get diagnosis right.

He was refused a psa test due to the unreliability of

the result much to my brother's disgust. Frequent

examinations maybe? Kind regards Chris x
