Hello ManalRash

Yes, plenty of people with PCD have had children, some PCD women have required fertility treatment and others have not needed to go down that route. For PCD men it can be more difficult, but with the help of ICSI fertility treatment, they have had a successful outcome, although there can be disappointment for some. There maybe other treatments now that I am unaware of.

Hi there,

I have PCD, and recently just had my first child. It took us about 5 months to conceive. I did have a couple of infections while pregnant but my doctors managed me well with oral antibiotics. I did not have to be admitted. I did have other complications during pregnancy, but I don’t think it was related to PCD. I now have a beautiful baby girl who is healthy. She has not shown any signs of respiratory issues so far. Let me know if you have any questions.

This post and the answers have given me a lot of hope X thanks x

I have PCD conceived naturally at 38. Chest was pretty good during pregnancy managed with just oral antibiotics. Did have some complications that were not related to PCD. Had a beautiful healthy little girl. The only negative about having children is the amount of viruses you will get from your child once they start nursery/school! Good luck.

This is what happened to me, once my daughters started nursery at the age of three, I caught every cold, cough and sore throat they brought home. I started needed hospitalisation, something that I had not needed since I was a child.

Me too Terry! It was hard going every winter until my daughter wass around 10. Even now when my daughter starts back at school she is now 16 in September she is well but will carry the viruses and I will come down with them.
