Doo you ever get reactions where there is literally spit pouring out of you? This happened to me last night. Also if you are dripping or mucus is coming up rapidly, are you able to sleep?

I have never had an issue with spit! It does loosen my mucus up quiet a bit, however then I use my chest physio therapy to clear my mucus so I don’t cough as much! It caused an increased cough at first but then I got used to it! For me it really help my clearense once I got used to it!

Gotcha, and how long did it take you to get used to it? Also, You are sure it didn’t cause your mucus to get thinner and come up as spit?

Probably 2 weeks! It made my mucus much thinner but never as spit! More so when I cleared it!

I nebulise it everyday, immediately prior to doing my chest physio therapy, as it loosens everything up.

It is not suitable for everyone to use, that is why at my prescribing hospital they watch you use it for the first time, to ensure that you are okay with it.

Yes this is part of the standard treatment for pcd to inhale the saline whilst doing physio eg attached to the back of your physio device. It helps agitate, loosen and thin mucous to get out the thicker secretions. When my daughter started it she sounded a lot worse for a couple of weeks before she got clear as it helped move out mucous that had probably been down there for a while - however she went from 46% to 88% lung function during her first two weeks using it whilst in hospital and since then has sounded drier and drier so presuming your consultant agrees stick with it.
