Thank you, Carol! The research into heavy metals and the micro biome is interesting.
I was actually exposed to coal as a child. I was ten and managed the coal house furnace every day for many months while my dad took a job in California and my younger sisters and I finished the school year in Illinois. My mother had been very ill and at ten years old, I took on that job. So I had daily contact with shoveling coal into the furnace, removing the used clunkers, and so on for all the winter months. Never thought that could be a trigger for later PBC but Dr. Bowlus' research suggests that it is a correlate.
