AIH sufferers - How many mgs of Azathioprine are you currently maintaining on once you have come off the steroids?
I think I have already shared this w'you -
but I have been on 75mg all along.
If I remember right (LOL) the Dr. put me on the Azathioprine while I was still on, but reducing, the Prednisone. ga
Yes you did tumbleweed41. Thanks for that. I was interested to see if anyone else was on Azathioprine. I am being weaned off steroid but my wbc is really low (border line leukopenia). Currently on 100mg (reduced from 100mg a couple of weeks ago from 150mg) and just wondered what is the lowest dose to stay stable? Waiting on consultant phoning me to see if I have to reduce the doze again? x

I am on 100 aza and now zero steroids but am trying urso at 750 mg per day. But to be honest feel bloody lousy! Don't think this answers yr question tho' love x
Update on Azathioprine. Consultant said that I have to stay on 100mg just now and he will review it in another 3/4 weeks when I see him. He said that if I start to feel unwell I have to go immediately to my doctors. Reassuring eh! Lets hope I do not catch any viruses or bugs going around. x
i have never taken steroids for the AIH due to the side effects. I have been on 50mg Aza now 75mg... I think its very unique for us all though...
I know we are all different, just interested in others experiences with Aza as my bloods have still not stabalised. How has your white blood count been? Have they been really low like mine or stable? How long dd it take to stabalise? X
