Celebrate Us!

It's International PBC Day! I know this weekend The PBC Foundation is sponsoring a Patient Conference. I hope today we remember all of us who are affected by this disease.

Remember that there are people literally around the world who have this disease as well. All too often we feel so isolated with this. Reaching out to others who know what it is all about can make us feel less alone. Even being in this group, I hope, reinforces the fact that there is always someone here to vent to , to ask questions of, and be friends with.

Today, around the world we celebrate all of the brave men and women who are bound by a disease that most know nothing about. Don't ever forget how brave you all are. We face each day with grace and courage - not knowing what the day will bring.

Happy International PBC Day!

Donna this is beautiful. We do often sit with feelings of isolation especially on days when we don’t feel our best. As a Nurse Practitioner who retired because of my PBC/AIH diagnosis and the associated fatigue I feel not only isolated from family friends but colleagues as well who don’t understand why I can no longer bring myself back to 16 hours work days.

We face each day with grace & courage…🙏😊

I struggled doing those 12 hour shifts when I worked nights in L&D for many years. I have to say all of my colleagues may not have fully understood why, but they were very supportive on 'those' days. I hope you know you are not alone here.
