Please post some general advice or 'tip' for someone who is newly diagnosed with PBC.

Do not google (to much old information), try to find support groups such as this one to find up to date information and personal experiences. PBC presents so differently in each and every one of us.

Wouldn't it great if the doctors just told patients who are newly diagnosed not to Google. AND... give them reputable resources to go to for the right information. Even some literature from them might make all the difference for someone. We can only hope!

Trust the process (at least for the most part). Give your hepatologist time to get you to a better place. Well maybe my first piece of advice would be... find a dr that understands PBC.

I really like the idea of letting your hep doc 'get you in a better place'. You're right though - hopefully he knows what he's doing. With the right care and education, it makes a difference for sure.
