I have cirrhosis and from dental implants and UTI’s , I have been on more rounds of antibiotics than I can count. I have never had any issues. -Pam

I have dental implants also. How did you determine your Cirrhosis was due to implants? Also, did you have them removed?

Oh sorry. The cirrhosis is only due to the PBC. I have had six dental implants and they always have to do bone grafts and antibiotics along with that or maybe it’s because of the dental implant surgery itself. I can’t remember now

Thanks for the information. Getting ready to have my implants worked on and believe they will give me antibiotics. Your info is really helpful!Carol

Hi , I will be 3 yrs post transplant in Nov . I have had antibiotics several times with no problems for both dental treatment & bile duct infections ... I'm currently on yet another course due to abdominal bloating with pronounced bororygmi so they suspect I could have a bacterial overgrowth in the Roux following my bile duct reconstruction in September last year - had an infection in my bile duct too so was on antibiotics for 3 months . Never have any problems with them . My liver consultant/surgeon always requests my dentist gives antibiotics when having any invasive dental treatment due to us being more sceptical to infection due to being immunosuppressant. The roller coaster ride of PBC & Transplant 😊 next port of call yet another MRI ... but hey im here still kicking & screaming thanks to my amazing donor & the fantastic liver team at St James's Hospital in Leeds UK .Extremely thankful everyday ... has a fellow liver warrior always says we are never out of the fight & fight we always will ❤
