Botox: Does anyone know whether it’s safe to... - PBC Foundation
Botox
Hi 7443jec,
I dont know but hope so 😁 xx
angel74 - thank you - this cracks me up!
Hi
I asked my consultant the same thing and he said it was ok as it’s such a small amount and gets broken down in the muscle so I’m hoping it’s ok
I’m at the hospital again next week and I will check again I have t had any for over a year though .......I need some !!!!!
Roz
Me too, I was having it every three months but since diagnosis in April I have left it. But I need it, for a boost as well as reducing wrinkles. During the past year I’ve had fractured vertebrae after a fall, diagnosis of severe osteoporosis, breast cancer surgery and radiotherapy and blood tests for this revealed the PBC. Life too short to not pamper our selves. I’m having a fibroscan next week, colonoscopy week after, and had an endoscopy two weeks ago. ROCK ON. XXXXX
I’ve been diagnosed 15 years & been having Botox 8 years, no issues.
7443jec - I love your enthusiasm! There comes a time when we all have to do what we want to do to survive and be better! I don't share your pleasure in being free of wrinkles - I don't even iron my clothes... .... because I just can't waste the time and energy! Each to her own. Do what you love! Some people say that taking a magnesium chloride supplement, along with other bone-supporting supplements, has rid them of wrinkles. I wonder if it works on the ironing?!
Ha ha 🤪. I’m unsure, until I see the consultant again about taking supplements. But fantastic if they work on the wrinkles. Xxx
7443jec have you had your fibroscan yet? Let us know, and best wishes for the c'scope.
Thanks, yes I had it on Monday, have to wait for the consultant to see the result and let me know. Was disappointed because I expected to be told there and then. 😢
7443jec - I'm sorry, that is disappointing. Did you ask? Where did you have it done? I never heard of anyone not being told before.
Hi, had it at Eastbourne hospital. I thought I would be told, but the nurse said the consultant has to view it!!!!!!!, Just have to be a patient patient 🥴🥴🥴. I have other health issues so am getting used to waiting for results. 💖💖💖💖
I can't understand it - if it was an x-ray of lung or suchlike, then radiographer isn't qualified to interpret, but the technician on the fibroscanner knows what numbers are recorded and what the average or mean number is without having to interpret anything. It sounds a bit precious, not telling you. But as you say, you are used to waiting for results. It's not in keeping with 'involving patients in their care' blah though, is it?
Yes, I’m a bit miffed about it. You’re right it’s not in keeping with current rights. But as I was given a cancellation appointment rather than wait another two months, I was so relieved to get it done and didn’t like to be insistent. Xx
7443jec - it needn't bother you though. They are just following instructions. It is better not to want to know what the result is until you have the person with the expertise to tell you what it means for you personally. Do you have your c-scope this week? After a while, it can come to be very routine and reassuring, this is just surveillance and we are lucky to be getting it.
Technicians aren’t allowed to give results where I live. Dr always has to interpret
gwillistexas - at other testing/imaging sites here, a sign is displayed saying that 'the technician will not give results so do not ask'. But not so at the fibroscan site where I have always been told the score even though I have never asked for it because it is what it is.
That’s a good thing for some. I actually prefer and feel more confident with my hepatologist reading mine. 😊
Thats the least of my worries!
I do, continue)))
I asked my doctor about botox and biorevitalization -and he says “yes”).
😀😀😀😀 thanks
