Just wondering if I’m alone in this experience: expressway driving and HUGE 18 wheelers causing terror. Prior to PBC, I made the 23 hour drive solo with no problem; after a year on Ursodoil, I panicked every time I passed a truck (fortunately, my husband did all the driving this time!) has anyone else experienced an increase in their anxiety levels? I’m thinking this is just an old woman thing/I live in the boondocks and need to get out more!
Can we blame this on PBC too?!!: Just... - PBC Foundation
Can we blame this on PBC too?!!
I suffered from anxiety prior to being diagnosed. I told my Dr that I thought my panic attacks were definitely a symptom of PBC. He said there are no studies in regards to it. I do believe the two are related. Would love to hear other responses.
No studies doesn't mean it doesn't exist. I think it is entirely possible that PBC may cause anxiety issues. I know that after having late term Lyme disease I developed some issues, such as sensitivity to loud noise and bright lights. Everyone reacts differently to body stressors including disease. We are entitled to - not that we can control it. I'm glad your husband was there to help you!
I don’t actually think it’s the PBC that’s causing the extreme anxiety (although I think most of us experienced that when we were first diagnosed!); I don’t know if it’s logical to think it’s caused by the Ursodiol though. I might just have to accept that at 68 I can no longer race on the expressways with those huge trucks.
All the time. My daughter talked me thu a semi and said , mom that truck is probably more scared of u then u are of them. So, that helped to this day. I used to have to take xanax when i new i was going to drive a strech, either take it or I'd have to pull over and take a pill. These days not too bad. Don't know why...
But i stiil have panic attacks, not so often i meant
Maybe..... I put off trips because I have to drive through Houston and I was going to ask for something for anxiety.... maybe it is urso..... I was pretty good before
When I looked into this further, I discovered that my thyroid medicine can cause increased anxiety. I might let my husband believe that it’s caused by my medicine rather than admit it probably is simply age/life style related! For now I’m simply going to enjoy the bright sunshine and give thanks to be out of Michigan’s blustery winter!
I don’t think the urso or the ocaliva I am on makes me anxious but I’m sure that having pbc makes me more anxious because I’m always worrying. Am going to talk to my doc about this . Home my two cents are helpful!
I have to take xanax. I get panic attacts.
