Modafinil for fatigue

Hi I've just been reading about a drug called modafinil which I looked up after reading a post on a FB site for people with PBC. This person stated she had seen a marked improvement in concentration and cognitive function since taking it. I suffer badly with this and fatigue and lately have felt I might even need to find a less demanding job because of it. I wondered if anyone else has heard of or tried it. I am definitely going to be speaking to my consultant at my next appointment about it. Link below to an article in the guardian about it.

Heleno I used Modafinil for 2yrs about 4yrs ago to improve cognitive function, concentration and fatigue. I found that it helped me considerably I had no side effects . I still had some fatigue but it was not as severe. The medication enabled me to continue working full time otherwise I would have been looking at early retirement. Modafinil is expensive in Australia it is not on PBS and I was not able to claim it on my health insurance but I felt it was worth it for me. Definitely worth discussing with your consultant.

I really need something to help. I even forgot my managers name in a meeting the other day that I was chairing when I was doing the introductions, not good!
