Conjugated Bile Acids
This looks very interesting Jean. No i haven't tried them but i would be very interested as well to know if anyone has tried these. Thanks for posting.
Just to add, there are a few very positive reviews on Amazon from people taking them tat might be worth a read. Something to note though, is that this company don't post internationally, so it can only be got in the US?. I live in the UK, so that could be a problem.
Hello Jean43.
Just had a look at the link. My view is I'd steer clear. That is unless someone from the medical profession were giving certain things the go-ahead.
Bile is apparently made up of different components, as we know ursodeoxycholic acid being one of which we take in the urso but I'd be wary myself of adding something that I perhaps might not need or could possibly do further damage.
Unless I missed it I could not see the actual bottle ingredients
I'm no scientist or medic but one thing that did stand out was the fact these tablets are said to be manufacturered using bovine bile. Given cows are said to have more than one stomach and they tend to eat mainly grass I would say that their digestive system is pretty much different from a human. I'd need some detailed explanation from someone in the know about these particular tablets. Though the first time I heard about urso was when I was diagnosed, I'd be interested to know how other components that make up bile aid in the digestion process.
I know there is a new to the market med that is going to be used for PBC. That is also another component of bile, the tablets are apparently to be known as OCA (originally urso was known as UDCA).
Hi Jean - I would take medical advice before taking anything of this nature preferably from the PBC Foundation. Let us know how you get on. Best wishes Diane
There is always this one, completely natural, with no animal ingredients.
Yes it does, i see that now. Thanks for pointing that out. I'll keep looking. lol
Do we know what Urso composes of? I mean, is it also a bile acid, and if so, is it from an animal too?
Just found that URSO is from bear bile, so it's an animal bile. I'm wondering if that would be vastly different from bovine bile? both being from animal origin?
I did find this....marenis-pharma.com/pages/ur...
This next one is very interesting and I've read their articles before, but I think what I gathered from just skimming it, it sounded like they still use bears for the bile. I don't think they need bears to make it anymore. It's sounds to be mostly synthetic....hindawi.com/journals/ecam/2...
