dental implants
I had 3 implants 14 years ago with no problems with PBC.
Hi - I was diagnosed with PBC 15 years ago. I had an inplant about 5 years ago. This has had no effect on my liver. Go for the implant. Im really pleased with mine. Goksel
I've not got any dental implants (only fillings) and I think perhaps these could be more of a problem to someone with PBC than titanium screws.
I am 51 now and still got nearly all my own teeth with some fillings but I have thought for a long time that in the event I start having major problems I would probably be better off with false teeth as opposed to keep having drills and fills over time.
I say this as most of my elders when growing up had false teeth and some of them did say that it was better than their own teeth. One retired lady I know said she can eat anything as opposed to when her teeth kept being taken out as was the norm pre-1950 and ending up with gaps all over.
If you are having upper teeth removed, I take it that you won't have any left, if so why not a removable top set as opposed to being fitted with screws? Wouldn't it be less problematic in the long term?
Dental implant doesn't have any effect even your diagnosed with PBC. Actually in your case you really need dental implants since four of your teeth needs to be removed. Good luck!
