Hi I would get this checked with your Dr in case it's bowel r liver related.

I think your find its to do with what you eat. Try wheat and gluten free diet that will help. I'm having to go to a dietician next month so I will report back to you if you can wait. Try the wheat first and see how you get on. Chin up. X

Agree with what's been already said, but try cutting out sugars and if you have a juicer, carrot juice is very good at putting alkaline into your body and reducing acid - best luck

Have you had recent scan ? I have an enlarged spleen and liver also bigger than should be so I assumed that some of soreness was down to everything being squashed in there but then I had endoscopy to check for varices and they discovered multiple stomach ulcers. ...so the main thing I would take from my experience is not to make assumptions or let your doctors do so but get a proper reason for the soreness...go back to docs and try and get to bottom of it. Good luck.

Agree with the others, back to the docs

I agree. You don't need a natural remedy, you need a diagnosis. You must find out what is causing the problem before it can be treated. If you discuss any allergic reactions you may have to particular medications, your doctor should be able to recommend an alternative.

A swollen abdomen can be a symptom of a number of different problems, some very serious. This is not something that should be treated by self-diagnosis or unproven remedies.

Go to doctors.

Try turmeric capsules and don't eat any grains or processed food or sugar for a couple of weeks. I think you will feel a big difference.

I also had an ALCAT test and am eating according to the recommended diet which is geared toward eliminating inflammation. That helps lots too. The object to eliminating the pain is to keep the inflammation down so the swelling doesn't create blockages and pain.

Thank you all for your replies. Think I'll try cutting out wheat etc until I can see my consultant in August. GP just offers more medication which makes things worse.

If I were you would not leave this August get your GP to see about bringing ur Hepatologist apt forward r at very least insist he do more tests eg blood tests scans endoscopes to see what is causing this could b anything but sooner u get a diagnosis sooner u can have it treated correctly. Failing that change your GP to one who will investigate your symptoms. Best of luck.
