Morning to you all... can anyone tell me if I have chronic cirrhosis would this mean I have late stages of PBC.

I really think you should ask your consultant this one. What have they told you ?

Chronic only means long standing so you could just have the start of cirrhosis. I would definitely only take notice of a medical trained person as you could end up frightening yourself.

All I know is that as Linda has stated, the terminology of 'chronic' means long time.

The understanding of cirrhosis is that this can last many many years too but only your doctor can fill you in more there. Someone else on this site who may have this might fill you in more on their experience but same as Linda, I'm not a doctor so can't really add much and sometimes you can scare yourself that bit more.

Hi there how do you know you have chronic cirrhosis if you dont mind my asking? Lide the others I really cant answer your question and would advise you to make an appointment with your GP to discuss this. How are you feeling are you able bodied and able to eat, drink etc and able to leave life normally as possible day to day? In general I just go by how I feel every day and try not to worry too much about what is going on inside my liver unless feeling copletely awful in which case would seek medical attention. Hi Ive had one scan which showed the cirrhosis ive had a hospital stay where the consultant said my liver showed late stages but my well being didn't. I do have my days where I feel ill but I seem to be learning to live with that. However I have now noticed that my skin has now got the sunkissed look which is making me look quiet well. Hi again what sort of scan was the cirrhosis diagnosed through? Was that long ago? Do you have to go for a biopsy? The reason I ask all is that 2yrs ago I had a scan which showed advanced fibrosis possiblly early cirrhosis and now I have to go for a biopsy. I am in N.Ireland where are you from?
