Hi Tracyxyz Sadly you may find its like talking the Deaf / Blind, for there are none so blind as those who simply refuse to see, and even more sadly that seems to apply to deaf doctors and GP's in particular. There is one step you might try and that is to contact Denise Oblein at Guy's /St Thomas's Hospital 0207 188 7188 and ask her to send you a copy of the "Concensus of Expert Opinion" this is signed by 7 Prof's all experts in B12 plus 2 very eminent Doctor's, one of whom is Dr. Dominic Harrington, the Director of Medical Research at Guy's. However; be prepared to be told "I still don't rate that as evidence" and "Do you really expect me to spend money on that" and so on. I then suggest that you have a meeting with the surgeries Practise Manager and state if you don't get some action you will make an official complaint again the practise, but you may wind up lookin for another Doctor sadly. Please don't just think your GP is no use, he is probably a very good doctor for all general run of the mill problems, but B12 is not at all rare, but it is very difficult to diagnose and complicated at the active level. The good news is, that the NHS is due to undergo a total redesign next month and things may change for the better, or at least let's hope so.

I have battled this problem for the last 6 months and have only just managed to get my points across and receive funding for further testing via Consultant level, so stick at it and good luck.
