Temperature Regulation

I am using the term temperature regulation to mean that once my body temperature gets higher or lower my body temperature does not return to what is normal for my body which varies through out the day.

This time of year my body temperature drops and my body does not return to normal. It is tied into the amount of sun energy that I have. A similar temperature differential in the fall when I have more stored sun energy there is no issue.

I have found that if I am out in the sun this time of year and take a hot shower or bath then get under an electric blanket than my body returns to normal.

I also find that if it is not too cold I can walk and that brings my body temperature up. If it is too cold the walking just makes the effect more severe.

The effect of having my body temperature not returning to normal is not that I am uncomfortable from being cold rather I get a stuffy head for about three days.

I can take Advil and that helps but I try not take anything more than I have to.

I have problems as well. I can't go into supermarket without shivering even on red hot days. On the flip side I handle hot weather much better - everyone can be sweating buckets but I don't. It can be dangerous. Without sweating I can overheat and faint.

This was one of the first reasons that I was sidetracked into thinking my thyroid more of a problem than my B12, it and pituitary being the body's thermostat (and I'd had half of it removed). I stopped sweating totally and couldn't deal with either hot or cold, and still can't always tell which I am. Usually here cold is more normal, so I put yet another layer on and if I feel worse, I was too warm! But I have found over the last few years with methylfolate and B12 and magnesium and vit E as a blood thinner that I have started to sweat again a bit, and my thyroid hormone levels have improved slightly. I still struggle with the cold and heat, but a little less extreme. I have a small fibre neuropathy diagnosis (which was tested using a thermal threshold sensitivity) and Raynaud's, which can be thyroid, B12 and/or homocysteine related. I still hope for more improvement now I am SI regularly, knowing that loss to the myelin outer of the pituitary can result in incorrect signalling of hormone levels. Cheers

The body temperature varies throughout the day. This rhythm drives the sexual rhythm and controls other body systems - for example blood glucose levels are lowest at 4 pm in the late afternoon. Less glucose means less energy and vitamin B12 is closely involved in making this energy available within body cells. So its not at a surprise that women with problems absorbing B12 have unusual temperature variations. Low energy means there is less heat generated .

This is a complex explanation yet worth reading. sciencedirect.com/topics/ne...

OK after writing this post and reading the replies (thank you!) I pondered my whole life with the cold and heat and sun energy. My highest level of analysis.

I came up with getting cold and then getting warm. The cold was easy and it was sunny the temperature was below freezing. I then took long hot shower and climbed under my electric blanket. I fell instantly asleep. I ate and repeated the process.

I was 'off' for few days and now I seem to experience the temperature more normally and similar to how I experienced it before winter. This improvement would not be possible with out my current suppliment protocal.

I expect what I achieved was resetting my hippocampus in conjunction with my pituitary gland.

I have done this process my whole life prior to self treating for B12. 5 years ago I flew to Florida and got sun, took a shower and slept twice a day for 10 days. Went to South America twice. This process also was developed in York England in 2000. There is much more sun and warmth in England than New Hampshire USA.
