Anyone suffer from extreme itchiness?

I'm going to the doc in a couple weeks and will ask about it because my feet are unbearably itchy/burning/static feeling. It comes and goes and no matter how much I itch it won't go away. Already done all the common treatments like lotion and antifungal creams without relief. Considered sock material, shoes, laundry detergent, food allergies all without finding cause.

There's no external redness, rash or dry skin. I don't have any other symptoms that would lead me to believe it's a liver problem. It's been going on for over a year. Probably started a few months after starting b12 injections. I used to have full body nerve pain and tingling. Most of it resolved with b12 injections and the residual was due to other issues solved with stretching and yoga.

I read recently this could be a symptom of neuropathy. That blew my mind. Wondering if anyone here has that symptom or knows anything about it?

It's driving me mad.

Hi,

I found some interesting articles when I searched online for "B12 deficiency pruritis".

Pruritis is a medical term for itching.

It's common for forum members here to also have folate, iron and vitamin D deficiencies. Have you got recent results for these?

It's also common for people here to have thyroid problems. Have you had any thyroid tests?

Itching can sometimes be associated with thyroid problems.

Might be worth putting thyroid results on Thyroid UK forum along with an outline of your story.

I'm not medically trained.

hello Iheartb12,

i'm going to begin my 5th month of inj. my feet have had the pain, burning, then they have now begun to Itch like crazy and it's on the inside of the bottoms of my feet and my left heal. I know that's the pattern of healing. I was on EOD but last 2 weeks i started every day and that's when it started more. so I gave my body more b12 and it's healing more nerves in my feet. maybe your nerves are finally starting to heal? did you have the itching in the beginning . the pattern of healing nerves at the end is itching, is what i've read.
