hello Everyone,

so I've had some super good days this last few weeks, yesterday and today I'm struggling again with stomach issues digestive nerves and just overall way more sensative than I've been, this may be normal for 6 or 7 weeks in with EOD injections. most foods and doing anything triggers it and kind of nausea too. I hope this is normal.

I’m assuming that you have Pernicious Anaemia ( also known as Autoimmune Gastritis) .It means that you will have low or no Stomach acid ( Hypochlorhydria or Achlorhydria) The antibodies that are produced by P.A. destroy the parietal cells in the stomach . These cells produce the Intrinsic Factor and stomach acid .

Having low stomach acid allows bad bacteria to dominate the stomach . This causes digestive problems . Probiotic foods will help the problem The best probiotic food I’ve found is home-made kefir. But real yoghurt and sauerkraut are also beneficial.

Also there’s something very beneficial for digestive problems called beta glucan in Oats . So porridge is helpful .

There are also probiotic capsules which can be helpful . But homemade kefir is the best provider of probiotics ( shop bought is not made by the traditional method , without kefir grains , but never the less good )

An acidic drink like diluted apple cider vinegar, taken with protein meals , can also be helpful . In serious cases of low stomach acid , some people find Betaine HCL capsules with pepsin helpful . ( taken with protein meals, and following instructions)

These are my suggestions , including chewing your food very thoroughly and having smaller meals more often in a relaxed atmosphere .

If you try any of the suggestions , and they don’t help you , you will not suffer any harm .! —- That’s important . Best wishes . .

I'm experiencing the same flare up after having to take 3 lots of antibiotics within a month (UTI x 2, plus a tick bite 😫) It didn't happen straight away, but I was on holiday and ran out of probiotics, then missed kefir yoghurt for a couple of days so I think all my good bugs got wiped out and now the bad ones have got the upper hand again. Stomach pain, nausea, feeling of fullness...just like the bad times a few months ago. I think that unfortunately it's going to take longer to get back into balance than to slip out of it. But at least I think it shows my usual regime has been working? Hope yours is a stomach 'waking up' blip and you find the right combination of ways from the advice here to keep things calm and functioning.

thank you both for your advise yes I do have some probiotics capsules I should be taking them but I have not been for a few weeks at least. thank you for explaining for PA stomach I will have to have a maintenance for my stomach now. that explains why my stomach has been so messed up for these last years. I will look into the kefir. I'm currious what that is. today my stomach is better and the other symptoms so far I just did my injections and I will continue to eat gentle food today. God Bless.

Hiya JesusMercy,

I’ve just gone over my first month of EOD injections. I am having reversing out symptoms too. Every day I’m super over sensitised by sound, smells even things lol! It’s hard to explain it’s like I notice everything which I was really lacking before. Everything appears right in my face n my head is literally buzzing with information. I do have Fibromyalgia so it might be that but just wanted to reassure u all is well 🤗 I have sensitive nerves n it feels like they are regenerating n reaching out to other nerves. My fibro is so much better n I can walk again unaided! (Not far but feel so blessed) Keep going we are slowly recovering n there is an enormous hill we have to climb. Best of luck 🤗💜

hello All,

I sure do love all the information and help and support, we all need the encouragement and support everyday. yes I need to get support for my stomach and I'm so happy to go through this with others when we will be over this hill. It plays on my mind on days like I know it will not be forever but some days get hard mentally and physically. I love the way you put that your nerves are reaching out to other nerves and healing. mine makes my back muscles get so tight at times it scares me.

I too was told I have fibromyalgia 20 years ago. I have always managed and never been bedridden thankfully. I am 7 weeks into my B12 injections EOD and having some not so bad days, but I’m finding I still can’t relax most days. And feel the anxiety is lurking over my shoulder. I wish it would clear off and leave me alone! I feel I can do things, but as soon as I start doing anything it washes me out, so I am pacing myself. Nerve pains still bad, but not expecting any miracles yet. It’s a rollercoaster of symptoms.

Hiya Chickens44,

I am sorry to hear u also have fibro it is a nasty hidden illness. Sadly anxiety can be one of the main symptoms u get with fibromyalgia. I too suffer with high anxiety but find vaping CBD helps me. I have tried the many methods of taking CBD n personally found vaping works best. Maybe u can try that 😊 As for the injections plz keep going as they have really improved my quality of life! Feel free to message me regarding your fibro plus on my profile u might find some of my Fibromyalgia Uk posts n replies helpful. Gentle hugs 🤗💜

Thanks. Dr Klein at the Cambridge Iron Clinic thinks I may not actually have fibro, but that it could have been B12, folate and iron deficiency all these years. He thinks I will improve but it could take 12 months or more. We will see …. !

Hello Chickens44,

I bet it is your B12 and I hope and pray that is it. with the B12 my anxiety and nerve pain has improved soooo much, and I found out both B12 D and PA. and those symptoms were getting out of control. but now that I have started to inject B12 methyl, my symptoms are getting better and better. I still have them and it was way worse at first but the B12 and this forum has been a God sent. I pray for you that everything will be gone with your treatment. I too hate the feeling of the anxiety sneaking back in at times but mine is from the deficiency.

Yes, I think you're are right to you say you need a stomach maintenance programme. I didn't realise how important it was until my symptoms reappeared, so it just shows how anything that upsets the good gut flora allows the bad ones to recolonise and head up to the stomach pretty quickly! I'm not a fan of fermented foods like sauerkraut or kimchee, but I do love kefir yoghurt which tastes more tangy and like the old fashioned homemade style. Haven't tried making my own yet, but it would certainly save me a lot of money! Hope you can get the right combination of supplements and foods to soothe your symptoms x

I was having goats milk kefir from The Chuckling Goat Company. It’s quite expensive, and an acquired taste, but supposed to be very beneficial. I have arrange to see a nutritionist as my bad gut bacteria seems to have reappeared. I did a gut microbiome test in March and it was showing good levels of good bacteria, but the one I just did came back with low levels again. I have been having Symprove, digestive enzyme with Betaine HCL, a good probiotic capsule, but I think I am going to start the kefir again. I eat a very good mixed diet, and not highly processed, so not sure why my gut is still misbehaving.

Mine is definitely because of the antibiotics, but lots of things can upset the gut can't they. Stress, different foods, travel... wishing you better x
