Good day everyone.

Has anyone has their levels checked? Does high levels correlate with PA and Autoimmune Gastritis?

Thank you

Scientist, not medic.

CRP is a widely used test and rises in lots of conditions, so even if it correlates with a condition, it doesn't prove causation. It rises in inflammation, as does ESR, Fibrinogen, Plasma Viscosity and a whole host of others. Useful, but it's just a number.

Thank you. Appreciate the reply

I would assume this protein would be high is case of PA/ AIG ?

That's a good question but I really don't have a good answer!

It may be found to be raised but not necessarily due to the PA/AIG, as it's such a general test. It's always wise to consider correlation versus causation.

Any inflammation or infection would be likely to increase it. It reacts very quickly to a stimulus, and equally, comes down again quickly. The ESR responds more slowly, and resolves more slowly too. Inflammatory markers are best considered as part of a bigger picture. Sorry I can't be of more help on this one.
