I was doing my journal tonight and I thought I would look at last year same date:
β20/4. V tired and sleepy despite good sleep. Aches extending up arms to shoulders. Shins and feet achy. β
Contrast to today:
Woke early 8.30 ish. Had good sleep. Made kombucha ketchup, did two lots of washing, made birthday cake for mum, Sunday roast for 5. Enjoyed every minute! No symptoms A- injected 4 times or every 4 hours.
And all down to you guys, your support and encouragement as GP support is non-existent and they think I am off my head injecting more than once every 12 weeks!
Who would have cooked Sunday lunch? Where would I be now without you guys?
Thank you all for sharing your recovery paths - it is so helpful to learn from others!

Yes it was a busy day and I actually enjoyed it and today I am going to take it a little slower as I know those βcan doβ days are a blessing not to be taken for granted.
Thank you for your kind words and support over the last year.

In fairness to your GP you are on the other side of a bit odd. Although injecting more to live more fully is not odd at all just because it is uncommon. π
Thank you and you know how much I value your shared experiences and trials. Your generosity has enabled me to leap frog to a faster recovery path. I shall always be grateful to you and everyone on this forum who are so generous with their support and knowledge.
What a contrast between this time last year and today! Iβm really pleased for you - life is to be lived not just endured. π
It is awful though not to have a gpβs support on your journey. I havenβt told mine about self injecting. She nearly fell off her chair when she saw my last b12 result so I refused to discuss it.
Thank you. I have written to my GP several times advising of my self treatment and the progress to no avail. I have asked for support with blood tests but to no avail. The last βvisualβ was eye rolling and being called βridiculousβ. So I go it alone. Sounds like you are in a similar situation.
I like your life is to be lived - sure is as best we can β¦ and if by doing so we can help others all the more rewarding.
Yes I am in a similar position and to be honest I feel quite intimidated by the whole thing. The only relevant tests I had were b12 (250 after months of supplementing) gastric parietal cell - negative and celiac screening.
I had private tests done through Blue Horizon which showed raised homocysteine but my gp said she didnβt understand the test and couldnβt interpret the result (!) despite it clearly stating the normal range. π€ After that no one would discuss the matter, so I have no diagnosis.
