Grain free B12 injections - hypersensitive

Hi, just wondered if anyone has advice re trialling B12 injections which I've just been offered by GP. I am totally grain free, medication and chemical reactive (so don't take any and avoid as much as possible). So far I've been using grain-free (even in production) oral and sublinguals but would like to try what I assume will be hydroxo, but as carefully as possible. I've posted on the thyroid site too, but I know some on here will also be TGF and reactive. I'd thought perhaps a small trial dose for initial injection rather than a full dose. Thanks for any ideas or thoughts.

As far as I am aware B12 injections are grain free and are suitable for patients diagnosed with suitabl celiac.

What are B12 injections made from?

B-12 Compliance Injection Description

Each mL contains 1000 mcg cyanocobalamin. Each vial also contains Sodium Chloride, 0.9%. Benzyl Alcohol, 1.5%, is present as a preservative. Hydrochloric acid and/or sodium hydroxide may have been added during manufacture to adjust the pH (range 4.5-7.0).

Can you have B12 if you are gluten intolerant?

How Celiac Disease Affects Vitamin B12: Vitamin B12 is frequently malabsorbed in patients with newly diagnosed or untreated celiac disease. B12 deficiency can resolve on a gluten-free diet alone; however, specific B12 supplementation may be needed for some individuals.

I hope this information is useful.

Thank you for that. I'm in UK so will be hydroxo. I itch with hydroxo oral supplements, although not badly, but have reacted to adenosyl liquids that were fermented on grains in the past, so I need to be as grain-free as possible. Not sure how common anaphylactic reactions are to injections but would prefer not to find out the hard way. Cheers

Cant say as I blame you but remember oral supplements contain fillers and other nasties.

I am grain sensitive and self inject without a reaction. If you google it states B12 injections can actually help.

I wonder if you are like me and have a leaky gut ?

Good luck

Thank you. I take the cleanest supplements I can find, with minimal fillers and no nasties, all known to be grain free. I think most of us have some level of barrier hyperpermeability, be it gut, skin and/or brain. I don't only react to grains of course, but chemicals generally, on skin, inhaled, etc. At the moment I'm using methyl, adenosyl and hydroxo supplements but I don't think it is enough, although my main problem seems to be folate useage.

You are lucky to be offered a trial of injections ! Do you have an enlightened gp?

I think it would be fair to say that I may have, but found him recently by serendipity. I gave up asking many years ago, as has Dad. This was a surprise and I know how rare.
