Thank you for your history of PA and it's discovery and treatment. It pulls together the historical threads very effectively.There is a stand-out inference that I make from your account and it is that once death could be prevented through the use of concentrated bovine liver and then cobalamin as a treatment was discovered, any urgency to progress research to optimise treatment was lost. People no longer died of PA (although I believe they still do). Instead, people with PA are consigned to a half-life with minimal treatment that adheres to a protocol that is negligently out of date. If, in fact, it was ever 'in-date'.

interesting perspective about the lack of urgency to progress research once some form of treatment discovered, probably also applies to lack of willingness to fund research into alternatives or a "cure"
