Living with PA?

I came across this insane photo and it somehow struck me that this is what it's like living with PA. Building this road on a cliff and at any moment the entire thing can just collapse! Maybe the posts holding the whole thing up represent B12 injections?

That is exactly how it feels. 🫣Good analogy Rexz.

Good analogy Rexz,

Me being me though, are the steel struts embedded into the rock face ?

If you get the foundations correct, you can build the most insane structures !!!

Comparatively, if people are biochemically impaired then they can become very physically ill and may loose capacity.

Well, you may be right but how do you explain me? I've a faulty foundation and a bit insane! 😂

Can anyone explain anyone ? 😜😂 I’ll have a go.

One day there was an egg travelling along minding its own business. It did not have a care in their red world. Then bang out of nowhere, there’s this massive collision. 💥 Flippin’ eck what’s that, thought the egg ???

Meanwhile, this sperm has been swimming through treacle against the tide and slam it crashes through something. It thinks OMG !!! I’ve just gone into outer space. It’s all alien 👽 here and I’ve gone through something super sticky.

This all creates a lot of hubba bubba and both parties think, ‘I’m melting’ (Wicked Witch of the West - Wizard of Oz). Both of them manage to utter a sentence to each other. They shriek, WE ARE MORPHING INTO EACH OTHER. Then dividing into smaller and smaller bits. They start to grow and get stuck in one place with absolutely no idea what galaxy they are in.

After about 84 days of this shenanigans. Ah ha dear Watson !! I believe I have a brain and the rest is history.

Caligula did a pretty decent impression of someone with Pernicious Anaemia too. 😜

Lol Narwhal10. Holy moly, so that's what happened!!! I do remember when I was very young... shrieking "WE ARE MORPHING INTO EACH OTHER!" 🤔

Love that you brought back my youthful memories! 😆

🤣😂 Me too. Then there was an uproar with people shouting, ‘Run to the hills.’

Mary Shelley based a book on me. 🙃

I love the phrase ‘biochemically impaired’. 😄That might have a bit more impact than ‘deficiency’.

Narwhal10 profile image
Narwhal10 in reply toMorningMist

Exactly. I suggested to use the phrase, ‘mitochondria dysfunction’ instead of ‘fatigue’ to a panel. People have said back to me I am tired all the time. Yes, you are a busy working mother who runs a home. I can stagger to the kettle and previously needed to lie down before I fell down.

If you look even closer than biochemical level. So to atoms, which are subatomic particles. It’s got an anion (positive charge), a neutron (negatively charged), a neutron (no charge) but there are so many MORONS in the world too and that is what we have to deal with 😜

Rexz profile image
Rexz in reply toNarwhal10

Perfect Narwhal10! If there was some way to discretely place a positive charge on the MORONS our situations just might improve! LOLMaybe a lightning strike??? No not discrete enough! 🙈

🤣😂 Oh Rexz,

I will dust off Medusa and let her do her job. Hopefully, that in turn will impact on carbon dioxide emissions and waste. So positively effect the environment.

Can you imagine ? The New York police have reported there are massive delays in Brooklyn, Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan and are investigating. They have found a significant number of statues. Some of which are driving hummers and SUVs. The NYPD are working hard to establish if this is a hoax. 😂

I think it brilliantly represents the insecurity, uncertainty and precariousness of the PA life. A section of my pathway fell off this weekend after a 5 mile walk!!

Oh no was it your scaffolding that gave way ? 😱

Orchard33 profile image

I dislodged part of the ramshackle surface but fortunately did not fall off. Recovering my equilibrium for a couple of days. Then I'll make necessary repairs and carry on.

Great reprensentation of a cruel illness.

Many of us and are still hanging on the edge of that cliff. Never mind the hard hats I would be wearing a parachute. 🤣

Sod standing on the edge of that I am no hero..

Rexz in reply toJillymo

Lol, even having the courage to stand there on the edge with a parachute equals hero in my book.

Hi Rexz

It is a good pic and I think there will be many more analogies drawn.

Mine analogy is - loneliness - doing it all yourself - no army of health workers supporting you.

Another analogy is desperation - who in their right mind would do this if it wasn’t necessary?

Another analogy is patience and self belief - small steps to rebuild a body Takes time and conviction.

Finally and I will hand over the batton. Resilience - doing the impossible against all odds. That’s how it feels sometimes.

Great pic. Off to do another small step and SI!

🤗🤗🤗

Wwwdot, yep all of those desperation, loneliness, patience, and some shear guts and perseverance to not give up. Everyone on this forum is, without doubt, a hero in their own right.

This is so like our journey in life with PA/b12 deficiency in many ways. None of us would be stupid enough to choose to be on this path if there was a better pathway to take.
