Been self injecting EOD for almost 6 months now and so much better - it’s hard to believe. But I have a dilemma!
Background: Recently I had a project requiring 17 consecutive days of long hours which was physically and mentally challenging. I self injected every day and twice on one day mid project. I felt great, albeit tired and like Wizard pointed out - after a “rest” with a hot bath and good sleep I was ready for the next day. I felt no need to “recover”. I felt great every day!
I am now home and back to self injecting every other day and I now recognise that the day with no B12 is a partial “recovery” day - I have some energy but not as much and my teeth ache and I feel out if sorts. I am ok but not great.
Dilemma: do I self inject every day? Or is this a backward step? Am I being selfish or over indulgent as I know of many who cannot even get B12 when they need it? So many conflicting thoughts going through my mind.
I know you guys will sort me out. Thank you all in advance.

I would certainly inject everyday . There is absolutely no harm in it . I had a friend who felt the need to inject every day . , and did so for years . So -go ahead . It’s marvellous to think that an injection costs less than a cup of coffee in a café !
I am also injecting daily with Hydroxo. My doc has advised to stay on this regime until all my neuro symptoms have gone. I’m in the Netherlands. I don’t like having to do it but I have made so much improvement since December, when I was diagnosed and feeling so awful. I think you need to find the pace and routine that best serves you. My doc said the only down side of injecting every day is that you build up scar tissue in your muscle. I plan on cutting back once my neuro symptoms go but am not sure if I might need to increase again. Good Luck! I’m so glad to hear that you are mostly feeling well. I’m sure you will find a routine that serves you best.
Pfizers Behepan (hydroxocobalaminacetat) is not manuctured any more, but Pfizers recommendation was injection every or every otherday until all symptom were gone - which can take years...
I have always questioned the rational for every other day and 1 mg. I have not yet found any. I am leaning strongly towards people are suffering needlessly as their body does not have enough B12. Doing a little bit better for years may not be necessary although accepted.
Well you are an engineer😀 I think that engineers are engineers because they question and not that they question because they are engineers. The good ones anyway. There are check box jockeys in any profession.
I do not worry about the supply not keeping up with demand as far as the amount of B12 I use.
I think the dilemma is should you try a trial of more B12 to see if you can feel even better. If not then cut back.
But then again I feel that you and everyone should feel the best they can. Silly me.
