Fatigue and me.

After a year of proper supplementation I became all but pain free and and only had slight numbness in my toes. I turned my focus to fatigue. This is the understanding and solution that I came up with. Acknowledging it may just be the supplementation taking effect.

I surmised that I had become very good at mitigating and going past a fatigue. Pretty much until I could no longer do so after losing 100 pounds, after years of un-diagnosis and misdiagnosis. I was hospitalized with my level of B12 being below detectable limits, given two transfusions and fasted for 6 days while procedures were done and sent on my way with 8 weekly injections and then oral cyanocobalamin and folic acid for life. Problem solved for the physicians. You know the rest of that story.

So for about a week I tried to be aware of when I went past a fatigue and did not try to take any measures to alleviate the fatigue. I surmised that the fatigue was ever present and what I saw as being not fatigued was really I was able to mitigate it and go past it. I concluded I was always fatigued.

I then through intuitive intelligence more than anything else came up with that I should sleep as best I could whenever ever I could feel I was going past a fatigue which happens before I feel fatigued. If that was not possible I took an image in my head of where I was so I could get back to going past the fatigue. It gets weirder.

In the TWW realm )Too Weird for Words) I came to what I call my CCN (Comforter Couch Nap) It evolved into clearing my head by doing simple games on my phone or solving a non-nonsensical problem in my head that I would never actually do. Like how would I cut a car in half, or how could I design a drone that could put another bigger drone together. I would then experience a 'state', it was not sleep as I knew it, it was not a state that I had experienced from meditation. It was new at least in my adult life.

I would leave this state and kinda be out of it for a while but not uncomfortable so. I would then be drawn to 'now I can eat better, exercise etc.' Or as I call it my "run faster and jump higher phase." I surmised that this was a reaction left over from when I could go past a fatigue. I did as little and as much as I could without going past a fatigue.

Twice it seems I could not get to my CCN and that state was experienced during night sleep and I woke up feeling well. That did not last long. It feels like it is a start.

It was helpful for me to write this all out and to share. Thank you all so much.

Journey on.

hi Wizard

Very interesting g as I too am batting with the fatigue element and I am still oscillating wildly about a stable state where I am neither bursting to do do things or zoned out with exhaustion.

My experience although preliminary as only been on this road for a few months is that there are several contributing factors. Alcohol is one for me, as is the number of meals per day, and the type of activity - mental vs physical vs both and the temperature.

Alcohol - runs my batteries down more quickly so that’s off the menu again. Brewing and drinking kombucha instead.

More than one meal a day gives me stomach cramps and makes me feel tired and uncomfortable. So one main meal with drinks and snacks

Cold weather I run out of steam very quickly and even if doing physical exercise I just get colder and colder especially in my legs and feet.

I find too much noise exhausting and often just go and read a book rather than spend time with the family or watch TV. I can’t quite find the words to describe my reaction to this type of fatigue but it makes me irritable.

The fatigue I find most hard to deal with is the mental fatigue and that is what I am working on at the moment. When I am too tired and super fatigued I can’t sleep which just makes matters worse.

Thank you for your insights Wizard I will read again and mull and see what other gems of wisdom I can extract.

Thank you.

Trying to understand my neurological system while experiencing neurological symptoms is a hard row to hoe. It sucks in fact. I found that when I increased my B12 intake the neurological symptoms got worse for about a month. I am about to try another increase and am not enthused about that prospect. Going to take a leap of faith and wonder where I land. Nothing for it. Take care.

I would be very interested in what supplementation you are taking as I can't seem to get this right.

I am currently taking 125 mcg B3 twice a day. 75 mg K2 twice a day, 2 mg Hydroxocobalamin twice a day, 50 mg B6 once a day. All sublingual lozenge. I was injecting the B12 and B6 and tried the lozenge as I was traveling to and did not want to have syringes in my luggage. The lozenges worked for me so I stayed with it.

I take manganese and folic acid every so often and am currently working on deciding what multi vitamin to take. Which I take in tablet form.

Be careful you don't overdose on the B6. I had no idea you could until I was diagnosed with B6 toxicity. It can cause neuropathy (numb legs and feet) the same as B12 deficiency does. I was taking Mega B tablets as well as multivitamins, thinking I was just making sure I wasn't unbalanced because of my B12 injections. Wrong! It's taken months of not suplementing or eating foods containing B6 to lower my levels again.

Thank you for your reply it is appreciated. It is my understanding that nephropathy is associated with high intakes of B6 and that it causes it has not been established. It is also my understanding that B6 tests measure biomarkers and that the biomarkers are not a measure of toxicity and can have many causes. Vitamin deficiency seems to be a lot like string theory in that no one understands string theory. 🙂
