I was noticing the effects wearing off yesterday (Friday), I did think about giving myself a jab then, but since I'd scheduled myself for Saturday, I left it till today.
Got up this morning, and the shakes were terrible...as well as all the other annoying little things that happen when I'm low.
Got my supplies, and readied myself - I remembered to wash my hands this time!
All the activity getting the gear etc made the shakes worse. Had a bit of a problem getting the needle on the syringe, then getting the top of the vial, then drawing the serum into the syringe, and I nicked a vein when I injected. - blood everywhere! Thank goodness for those dinosaur plasters!!
I'm having 3 espressos to calm myself down LOL 🤣🤣🤣

I'll see how I get on for now...I'm not sure what size the needles are, I thought there were two different sizes in the pack, but they're all the same, and I can't see anything on the label that says what size they are.
As for needles, well, I went for my second Covid booster a few months back. Quick stab & squeeze into my arm, and next morning, whoopee! My right leg below the knee is swollen, so much so that it's like a marrow; tight [but not green] so I contacted my medic [that's another story] and advised to measure my calves, and compare. Right fatter than left. [Not forgetting my left had been broken and was still a bit withered] so next stop hospital, echo, blood tests, [nothing to see here folks]! After a few months, with gentle treatment, elevation etc it went down and is now back to normal. I'm now being somewhat circumspect about vaccines, although I think they're a good idea. At no point did it stop me doing stuff.
Good Grief FlipperTD, it sounds as if you’re having the same kind of fun as I am. I’m having increased levels of fun with tremors and am starting to think I’ll need to get my better half to stick the needles in. I push the fine needle I use straight in but my other injections use a 90* angle. It’s not easy to do either when you suddenly lose control of your limbs🥴 We’re all entitled to 10/10 for perseverance and I hope you feel much better soon. x
I had terrible reactions to flu jabs, and caught the flu, three times. Got one flu job felt sick for over a week, arm swollen/massive itchy rash at the injection site, headache, fever...a few weeks later I get hit with the flu and I was out of it for 12 weeks.
Gets the flu jab next winter, same issues after the Jab, a few weeks later blam, out of it with the flu for 8 weeks, recovered, caught the flu again, and out of it for 6 weeks,
I've not had a flu jab since!
Never had a problem with the B12 ones, thankfully!
I live in Ireland, and there's no point in my asking the doctor for a referral or test and then using a "big word" like immunodeficiencies, they have been told and it's been passed on for 30 years that "Saoirse is mentally handicapped" and they believe this with every fibre of their being, and I get no health care, because "oh you read something on the internet did you?!?!"
There's no point in reporting them, I cannot move to another clinic, and no, I cannot get anyone to listen to me...someone did say she'd come with me any time I had an appointment to see if my having a witness changed their attitude, but then she never came with me
I was there today to get my bloods taken, and I mentioned my neuropathy, doc totally blanked me.
They've been told 6 times by 6 different people that I have neuropathy in my feet and it's gotten worse over the years...

They make SI so much easier! I wouldn’t be without mine. It literally snaps the top off with a clean break (no shards of glass) and you just eject the top straight into your sharps bin. I ordered another one this morning in case my current one breaks and I can’t get another one! Although I’ve had it for a long time and it works like new still it’s a great piece of kit for SI and well worth the money (they used to be £20, so £13 is a bargain!)
Hi..It sounds like you need more regular injections.. if it gets to the point where you are starting to feel symptoms return in between injections you're leaving it too long
Ampoule snappers are reduced on amazon.. these type are great ...x
Do you have anyone could do the prep for you? My partner breaks the vial (I can't do it), draws up, changes needles etc and I just jab my thigh. I don't think I could manage to prep it alone.
Nope, I live alone and the last person who I might have called "friend" moved away a year ago - not that she would have helped me any way, she's far too squeamish for that sort of thing. I shouldn't have ignored the symptoms on Friday...my bad!
This was only second time SI, it seemed to give me a good boost, so I was going to go with once a week. I'd been using an oral spray for the last year, but it wasn't doing much, so I went with SI.
Go with the vial snapper then, helps no end. I used to but it was such a malarky holding it all on my lap-tray to do it with 2 young Labradors watching and waiting for the game to start (everything's a game to them. lol)
GO SUBCUT around your belly button! Done it for 8yrs without a hitch with 1/2inch 30g needles. Go in at 45 deg pinching the skin about 1.5ins from your belly button. Press the syringe SLOWLY to avoid stinging in some areas of your tummy. This method gives you better slow release of B12.👍😄
sorry to jump in your post, but I’m finding my needles are hurting and bruising, has anyone got an Amazon link to the needles and syringes they are using please?
Why are you injecting? I don't know what your situation is and maybe you for some reason need to inject with needles, but we also went to Dr. for initial loading doses, but now we are using sublingual under the tongue, or patches, tablets, all from a store or Amazon. Can you not use any of these methods to get your B12?
Hi, everything I've heard and read about seems to say that when you first start treatment, it often takes 6 months to 1 year to be back to whatever healthy or normal may be. I'm in about the sixth month of my treatment, taking B12, folic acid, etc., and I too wondered if I was getting any better. I've also read that during your treatment, especially the first 6 months you may not feel much of a change in how better you feel. I am still having issues with emotional stuff and breathlessness, etc. My terrible nerve pain seems better though. At times it felt like a severe bout of back spasms. Oh and check your diet, we found that the food we ate contained no vitamins to absorb usual food like corn, peas, bread, milk, etc). Good luck.
