Hey guys, back end of my last post my bloods have come back with liver levels not a concern. However my b12 is pretty high, I haven’t got numbers but reviewing my bloods over the years I’ve always had a high b12. The doctor hasn’t been able to explain what that means and said it isn’t a concern. Which is fine I guess however can anyone in the community add to this please. Xx

The normal range is a statistical range - for some metabolites that vary depending on particular processes it is more useful than for others where there is much more variation between individuals.

B12 is one of those metabolites where people tend to have levels that are quite specific to them. Not everyone will sit in the normal range. If your levels are consistently high then this would suggest you are one of those people.

If you aren't showing symptoms of B12 deficiency then it is nothing to worry about. If you are then it may be an indicator that you may have a genetic problem processing B12 once it is in your cells - but please note that the area of genetics is off topic for this forum.
