Hello everyone,
Yesterday I had a ultrasound for a swollen lymph node on my neck, the person scanning said its nothing to worry about and was asking whether a history of thyroid issues was in the family, which there is. That was one of the worries I had as it took 3 months to get a scan.
I feel a lot more confident and at rest right now, but I am still dealing with a newly diagnosed b12 deficiency.
Loading doses (x6) ended 1 and a 1/2 months ago. Every symptom that prompted me to go to the doctors has gone. After my 3rd injection, I had twitching which has since eased off heavily and am only left with a few things that leave me confused.
First of all, I have spoke about it before in this community and it was speech problems. I feel like it comes and goes but I may have misled people by saying speech was slurring. It is just hard to pronounce words in sentences and my face does feel a bit numb but I came to the conclusion that this can happen.
Other things that bother me is my legs have an awful pain, usually after going to work or after school. It will normally go away once I sleep but it gets really painful in the evening.
Also, sometimes an arm or a leg can go completely dead or numb, hands and feet are cold, arms feel heavy, sometimes lose some dexterity in my hands but it all comes and goes.
I can easily deal with all of these symptoms throughout day-to-day life, I just cant seem to shake the ideas of all of the worst case scenarios of these symptoms. Theres no more tests the doctors are willing to do unless completely necessary, but they cant provide 100% assurance as their quite dismissive about neurological symptoms associated with a b12 deficiency, I have shown them NICE guidelines and everything and their not willing to provide further b12 shots. If anyone could help me by sharing a similar symptom history, that would be great to try and tell myself I'm not the only one who has these symptoms, if its not asking too much. Thank you everyone
