is it normal to feel really much worse at beginning of treatment ? I feel v dizzy as I had 6 months ago. Had loading doses plus 3 SI this week. Should I cut back on SI perhaps 2x week?

I hoped I would be improving not feeling worse

Thankyou

I often read on the forum , that it happens quite a lot . before improvement shows . I know you must feel bad about it , but do keep on injecting. I would not reduce it . Hope that you are taking a modest daily folic acid tablet as well ( say 400 mcg ) Best wishes .

Hi,

Sorry to hear you're feeling dizzy.

Some people get a drop in potassium levels (hypokalaemia) when they start B12 treatment.

Maybe you could ask your GP to check your potassium levels.

Some forum members eat potassium rich foods eg banana, avocado, beans.

I would never take potassium supplements unless they were prescribed by a doctor as excess potassium can cause health issues.

My vertigo gets worse with more frequent injections. I am continuing to inject anyway in the hopes that this will eventually resolve. I am 15 months into treatment. I started with monthly doses and up to once/ week just recently. My vertigo has continued. Hoping it is a healing response and that it will resolve with time.
