All countries have different acceptable levels of b12 to name it a deficiency, not to mention some measure in different units. Also some can show a higher b12 serum level and have a functional deficiency. So the answer is not so simple. Do you have a test result to share, so that we can help you better.

As for levels after each number of weeks, it is irrelevant. Testing after supplementation has no meaning. Once you're low there is an absorption issue. That is not cured by supplementation. The only exception would be low b12 due to diet. But even then there could still be an absorption issue for anyone who is vegan, vegetarian or undernourished.

Also, don't expect doctors to know all this, even though it is all in medical.journals. They just don't study it that much in medical school. And then I guess they are pulled in a myriad of directions and it gets lost in the shuffle. But they will talk like they absolutely know, often with erroneous information. So be aware. Including specialists

My own sister is a victim of this lack of knowledge. They would give her a shot. Keep testing. Find a higher number and take her off shots. And then low number again. On. Off again for an extended time . Over and over. For years.

She had no idea it didn't work like that, why would she?! She probably has some irreversible damage due to this troubling lack of understanding
