Just reviewed the forthcoming NICE guidelines for B12 management.
I wondered where Nitrous Oxide abuse would sit between the two causes - diet or intenstinal malabsorption?
Whippets or nitrous oxide abuse is becoming one of the major causes of B12 deficiency among young people. But it seems to be being left out of the conversation?
It doesn't seem diet related.

I worked at a "Head Shop" in the late '70's (anyone else here old enough to recognize that term? ) which sold Whippets, and I used them maybe 10 times or so. After reading about association between nitrous oxide & PA awhile back, I have wondered if I've long been paying a price for being a stupid teenager.
It seems unlikely that it would catch up with you. I dont think whippet use cases stomach pains, in fact Im not entirely sure of the chemical reaction with B12 but it is most likely too long before to have had any real impact.
