What needles should be bought from Germany and also syringe type. Most of pharmacies are ran out if syringe as I checked. But micro BD fine and beckton needle size really confusing. Please share you information regarding that.
i don’t use Amazon u.k. for needles or syringes . I buy from medisave.co.uk. I use 1mg x 1ml B12 ampoules so .I find it best to use a 2 ml syringe, with them as then it’s easier to withdrawn every last drop of precious B12 from a 1 ml ampoule I inject I.M into the outer middle 3rd of my thigh ( vastus lateralis muscle )
Injection needle BD MICROLANCE
25G x 1inch In stock
Withdrawing needle— BD blunt filter needle 18G x 1.5 ( these are expensive compared to others — you don’t have to have them . Any 1.5 needle will do . In stock .
Syringe - 2ml BD EMERALD LUER SLIP in stock
Remember to get rid of all the air from the syringe before injecting . It won’t kill you if you don’t , but it’s best to ! Depress the plunger until
a little bead of red B12 appears on the needle -tip. .
.
I inject Intra-Muscularly ( I.M.) Into
the outer middle third of the thigh ( Vastus Lateralis muscle )
Hope this helps . Best wishes .
Thank you Wedgewood for this information. Where can I buy the B12 ampoules from? I am new to this being recently diagnosed with B12 deficiency. I had the initial 6 loading doses then was told to come back in 3 months for another injection. I was also told it didn't matter what symptoms I had or how ill it made me the doctor will only inject every 3 months. I managed 6 weeks then the symptoms started to come back. I have suffered for years but the doctors were not interested and would not do a blood test. It was the consultant at the eye clinic who insisted I have several blood tests including B12 . So, having felt the benefits of the B12 injection I have no wish to suffer again and want to do whatever I can to keep well. I have found this site to be most helpful and I no longer feel alone.Thank you
I will send you all the information that you need . I know how you feel . It’s really horrible . Worry no more , you will get all the information that you need . This self injecting should not be necessary , but in actual fact it is really cheap . Probably cheaper than at your surgery if you have a bus journey or a longish car journey . An injection costs about £1.50 . I find self injecting preferable to going to the surgery . I’m can inject painlessly ( into my thighs ) The surgery ones could be painful sometimes . I need to inject weekly to keep symptoms at bay. .You will find by trial and error how often you need to inject —can be anything from daily up to three monthly , The present “ one size fits all is simply ridiculous !
