My friend is going downhill fast

Hi everyone, my friend is doing everything right. B12 shots, eating healthy. No dairy, no gluten. Is with one if the top doctors in NYC. She was doing fine but the last month has been brutal. She can not seem to get enough oxygen. Tingles back in her hands, blurry vision. The oxygen is a big one. Her heart is fine. Any help would be so appreciated. Thank you so much

Is she having further tests. Iron ferritin folate full bloods

Oxygen levels tested

Referrals to specialists

If her symptoms have changed she needs further investigation

Sorry yo hear your friend so poorly

Thank you I will pass this on to her. She may have other autoimmune diseases that she is not aware of

I think nackapan is right probably it's something related to ferritin.

Think about more regular B12 injections. .Also if your friend has one autoimmune condition , e.g. P.A. she may well have another , as they seldom come alone. That’s so lovely that she has a friend like you . Best wishes .

She's not had covid? Suddenly going downhill and having trouble getting enough oxygen... could it be that she had an undiagnosed covid infection and the effects are lingering?

(I'm not a doctor and clearly she needs to consult one given her new symptoms and increasing ill health) Hope she gets well soon!

Hi she has been double vaccinated. It happened after a 16 hour plane flight. She has not been the same. She gets regular B12 shots which used to help but stopped helping. She can check to see if somehow she did get covid. Thank you

You can still get covid if double vaccinated, but is much much less likely for it to be severe or put you in hospital.

If it's been a month since her symptoms started to show, then it's very very unlikely to show up on a covid test now. Hence it won't be possible to confirm it, but if she explains her symptoms to a doc they will be able to say whether covid is a likely explanation.

If she is having trouble breathing, these simple yogic practices may help:

Be careful to follow the instructions. All the best. 🌼

If it started after a 16 hour flight has she been checked for a pulmonary embolism as a matter or great urgency!!!

She should get checked for a pulmonary embolism or any blood clots.

I was initially thinking B12 and ended up looking more at Mast Cell disorders. That might be worth looking into.

Definateky needs investigating further.....in the meantime no harm i increasing frequency of b12 shots (you haven't said how frequent?) & checking ferritin, folate & thyroid levels. Ensure she gets copy of results as the ranges r wide and docs tend to say fine even if bottom of range.

She does have thyroid issues. I'm giving her all the info I received today to get checked out. Thank you so much

Well if she is significantly under medicated for her thyroid assuming its hypothroidism ( underactive) it certainly can cause real problems.......under treatment or no treatment has had people in wheelchairs.......but the good news is many do gradually recover once on optimum treatment and regain very good health. Make sure you get copies of ALL blood tests your GP does. She might want to consider a thyoid panel test (TSH, Ft4 & Ft3) -you can this done for not a lot of money using a postal service with a finger prick test. Thyroid Uk website has sources. Once you have all the test results post on Healthunlock -Thyroid uk as well as on the PA. make sure you include the ranges (figures in brackets). There are some really knowledgeable experienced people on both forums.

Read up on hypothyroidism & b12 deficiency. Both Thyroid Uk & the PA websites have books listed. Knowledge is power! It will also help you to get a measure of how competant those professionals are on both conditions as you seek help for your Mum.
