Covid positive and B12 d

SickNessa profile image

I tested positive for Covid while healing from severe nerve damage from neglected b12 deficiency.

I don't know if I'll ever get better now or have any kind of a recovery.

I can't stop crying.

Are you still getting treatment for the B12 deficiency SickNessa ?

Have you been double vaccinated?

Hopefully, if the above is the case the covid infection will result in no more discomfort than a "bad cold" as has been reported by many who have taken the vaccine and tested positive,

I am not a medically trained person but I wish you well and a quick recovery,

I haven't been vaccinated at all. So far it feels like a crappy cold.

I'm sorry - I wrongly assumed that you had been vaccinated 😢

Take a minute and just be with the sensations within you of being alive or with a plant or some other thing in your vicinity. Really pay attention and a loving interest to it for a bit. Life doesn't happen in your mind. I know you know it's not helpful to feel panicky and is hard to get yourself out of that. But worth trying some strategies for that.

I had the delta variant of covid before vaccination (and whilst still recovering from having my B12 injections withdrawn). It wasn't a great experience at all. Had all the symptoms and it was very unpleasant and concerning at times. But I recovered without medical support and although some symptoms lingered, they have dropped off now. Most people recover well and there's no reason to worry.

Do this practice a few times a day, it's very supportive for a quick recovery from Covid:

Make sure you go through the full video and get the instructions properly. 😊

All the best Nessa! Get well soon and a big hug!

The vast majority of people do perfectly fine at home. Just as if it were a bad cold. So your best to take your Vits C, D, zinc and of course your b12. Quercetin has been recommended as well. Try to relax, rest and heal. Wishing you a speedy recovery😊

I agree - our whole family take these supplements.

Agreed. Quercetin helps the Zinc enter the cells. The zinc acting as an antiviral. Also, zinc Gluconate lozenges allowed to dissolve in the mouth.

Hi,

I have read some articles that discuss B12 being used as part of treatment for patients with Long Covid symptoms.

I am not medically trained.

There may be some details in books and links below that could be upsetting.

PAS news item that discusses similarity between Long Covid and Pernicious Anaemia Symptoms.

There is a helpline number that PAS members can ring.

Two B12 books I found useful

"What You Need to Know About Pernicious Anaemia and B12 Deficiency" by Martyn Hooper

Martyn Hooper is the chair of PAS (Pernicious Anaemia Society).

BNF treatment info in book is out of date.

"Could it Be B12?: An Epidemic of Misdiagnoses" by Sally Pacholok and JJ. Stuart (US authors)

Very comprehensive with lots of case studies.

I suffered for many years due to unrecognised and untreated B12 deficiency.

When I finally started treatment, it took a long time before I started to see improvements.

I'm in UK and NHS refused to treat me so I had to resort to treating myself.

I am still seeing improvements 8 years after starting treatment.

Do you mind me asking which country you are in?

It might help people to post the most relevant info.

I have written some very detailed replies on other threads with lots of B12 info.

It's nice that B and D kill Covid. I was reading that magnesium also helps.

I’m not sure that you’re correct that B and D vitamins kill covid?

My daughter was the same, since having covid a few weeks ago she said she has never felt better. Incredibly she can now feel her fingers too! I gave her sambucol. She's 29 and not vaccinated. Try not to stress, covid for most is not too bad.
