Could my keto diet have lessened my need for b12?

So I’ve been on a ketogenic diet for the last 3 weeks to get healthier and feel healthier (losing some weight is a bonus). I have to say that I have less inflammation, less aches and pains and FINALLY an even amount of energy throughout the day. I’m even sleeping a little better. However, I’m curious if anyone has any experience with this as it has been a week and a half without an injection and I still don’t feel as though I need one. I NORMALLY SI 3 times per week😳. What is going on?! I have also never been able to go past 3 days without some sort of symptoms returning and very quickly start feeling terrible. I’m going to do some research on it but wondered if anyone else had this experience. Hope everyone is doing well😊

It might be you are,,? Gluten free on thus diet.Or removed foods by proxy ?

No idea why your need for b12 woukd be reduced.

Do read up on how long it's safe ito stay on it.

My friend was on it and needed alot of mints

She did lose alot of weight .reintroducing sone carbs gradually when going back to a more mixed diet.

Let us know how you get on with the b12 and symptoms

I cut out sugar and carbohydrates. (Other than some veggies as almost everything has carbs in it). Some I have learned I don’t feel well after consuming. I did it to cut inflammation as sugar is HORRIBLE for inflammation and does a lot of damage. The even, constant energy without the insulin spikes is great. I’m curious to find out if sugar does that much damage to our bodies that somehow it requires b12 for repair. Maybe?? I don’t know. I’m guessing at this point as I haven’t researched it but I looked at the calendar again last night and I’m close to 2 weeks with no injection and no symptoms. I surely can’t be the only one who has experienced this🤔. Will keep you posted.

Because in keto diet you get saturated fat which is essential for nerves sheath get repaired by schwinn cells and oligodendericytes along with exercise and good supplementation. Most people think just high b12 is enough but its not true. Saturated fat along with exercise and proper supplementation and good diet is essential for fast healing. In the meantime most people think hand tingling ,vertigo , numbness in hands and feets and feet burning are marks of healing but its not its just lack of oxygen in those parts along with severe fatigue in muscles. because high b12 dose cause interruption of nerves signal to get repaired so they don't do their job and Vascular smooth muscle cells can't vasoconstriction and go in relax mode and vasodilate so its needed to stimulate them by high physical activity and exercise in order to keep our local blood pressure at normal range and oxygenate our muscles.

Thank you for that information. I’m looking forward to looking all of this information up. I’m finding it fascinating the further I go.

I have been an avid Keto'er. Has the keto diet influenced you to consume more meat than before? that could be one factor. I felt the same results on Keto, Plucky. It's not for everyone. I dropped off because I ran out of time/energy to cook my meals, but now that I am dosed up, I may start again.

Thanks for your reply! I have always been a big meat eater but I have been eating more red meat. I originally was going to start out eating carnivore but it was too big of a jump so I guess I’m doing a version of ketovore lol. I don’t think I ever felt this good. Ever. I will slowly add things to see which veggies are a culprit for me.

I started a keto diet 2016 because of stomach issues and arthritis I cut out sugars all grains pasta rice and potatoes I used apple cider vinegar and bitters after every meal I felt wonderful doctors did the yearly blood tests and my B12 came back 896 and the doctors stopped my B12 injections untill 2021 and had a hard fight to get them restarted even when my MMA came back really high .I stopped my keto diet in 2019 when my husband had a massive stroke I was at the hospital alot and a sandwich was the quickest thing to take with me so I understand how well you can feel I felt so well.
