Do I need injection?

I am experiencing itchy feet for a year. Thought it was dry skin. But found out B12 deficiency and started medication. Burning started before 15 days after I started B12 drops. My B12 raise with oral supplement s. That means I don't need injection. Right? Symptoms still there. Feeling hopeless and sad. I know it's soon to expect results. Please enlighten me. The posts in this thread is frightening me.

Are you a vegan/someone who eats very little meat/fish/dairy/egg? Ie do you know if the problem is diet or absorption? and do you know the strength of the tablets you are taking? The quickest way of raising B12 levels if you have a deficiency is through injections. Oral will be much slower, and it doesn't work for everyone with an absorption problem.

I am eating much less of meat. B12 raised well within 40 days with oral. I wanted to know that how many days it takes to neurological symptoms like burning, tingling feet go away?it started recently

It depends on exactly what is causing the symptoms - B12 is used in a lot of processes in cells and at least 2 of them relate to nerve function. If you have damaged myelin (the protective sheath around your cells) then it will take many months - possibly more than a year for things to correct as myelin repair is a very slow process.

When you say 'raised well' do you know what the exact results were. Serum B12 is only accurate to 20% so if the rise was within this range then it may not be a rise at all.

It's 860 now from 166. First I took 3000 McG methylcobalamine oral. Then 3000mcg drops. For 5 days 5000mcg. All happened within 40 days. So can I assume at least I absorbed oral supplement. Right?

yes, if it happened whilst you were taking oral then you are absorbindg enough B12 from the tablets. It may be trying switching to cyano or hydroxo as some people don't respond well to methyl and switching would rule that out as a factor. If there is a family history of lebers (rare genetic disorder) then don't use cyano but this is the only time when cyano is contra-indicated for treatment.
