C-19 Pandemic

Has anyone with a B12 deficiency been infected with C-19? I notice that many of the symptoms of "long Covid" are similar to those some of us experience from B-12 deficiency. Anyone know if high levels of B-12 from frequent self injecting is any protection from becoming infected with C-19?

Hi,

Thought this link might be of interest .

It's about potential of B vitamins in treatment of Covid.

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...

I think symptoms of Long Covid are very similar to those of ME/CFS and also those of B12 deficiency.

Some ME/CFS sufferers have found B12 injections beneficial and some people are misdiagnosed with ME/CFS when it's actually B12 deficiency.

Some info about Covid infection on ME Association website.

I do wonder if Covid infection could deplete B12 levels in the body in some way.

Wow!

What an excellent paper - thank you!

Although technically it says it hasn't been peer reviewed, it has been written by so many eminent nutritionists from around the world that in many ways it is better - which is the point of its commissioning.

My layman's logic, gained from papers and anecdotes over the years, suggested to me that all the points were so but it's good to see it summarised from scientific evidence in such a clear format.

Basically all your B vitamins, plus vitamins C and D, supported by the other vitamins and minerals that are required for them to work properly, are essential for fighting Covid-19!

Thank you for your informative answer. So far nobody has answered and said that they have had a C-19 infection - that is heartening although not conclusive.

My experience is that many of my symptoms of PA only became clear after months of injecting every other day - some continue to reveal themselves. I strongly suspect that many repair and replacement activities in the body are B12 related including elements of ageing. I know that there has been some research on this.

Great research, thanks😀 So many problems could well be vitamin deficiency or complications from malabsorption or similar. Not enough attention paid as we all know... big Pharma will not benefit if it's addressed properly and doctors don't seem to know enough about it. Also common medicines given can cause deficiency such as anti acid meds.

Cheers.

You are certainly in a better position to fight any infection if your B12 levels are at an optimum . I don’t think it depends on high levels , just that you are injecting at frequent enough intervals to keep any B12 deficiency symptoms at bay . Those levels will vary from patient to patient . Also important to have good levels of all vitamins and minerals . Your immune system needs to be kept in top form . You should make sure that you get enough sleep ,as well .

It seems blatantly obvious that any depletion in vitamins will be detrimental to ones health especially ones immune system which makes the ignorance/scepticism/wanton ignorance of GP’s and, in my experience, every health worker I’ve come into contact with a national health scandal. When I’ve been to a hospital and been asked if I have any health problems and I state that I am (was [ since my GP like so many others hasn’t let a health crisis go to waste and denied me injections]) receiving treatment for b12 deficiency it’s as if I have committed a social gaffe and they have just ignored my admission as an irrelevance.

When, Oh when, will the health service understand that we are organisms that need adequate nutrition to be well rather than trying to identify the end product of poor nutrition and providing medicines to repair the damage.

I haven't had covid and probably should be taking better care not to get it, as I've had consistently flagged low red cell counts for many years and the past year I've been having white blood cell counts coming back flagged too. So I'm assuming having PA should be considered a guarded condition, where one should almost be treating the situation as elderly or compromised immune system. I'm just guessing here. But I also don't want to put it to the test.:-))
