Hi, I have previously self injected into my thigh, but I was wondering if there are any dangerous side effects of using my upper arm muscle like the dr does?

I have watched a few videos and done quite a lot of research, I was just curious as to the difficulty or potential problems in doing it myself in this area

Hi there, I did my first injection the other day, into my upper arm muscle like the nurse does. No issues at all.

I use my thigh because I can see what I'm doing. Only tried biceps once, and it was too much of a contortion.

I rotate injection sites and use upper arm and thigh. I’m usually relieved when it’s an upper arm day as I find it far more pain free than my thighs.

I’ve recently discovered BD Discardit syringes (bought from Medisave.co.uk) and these glide much more easily and so help when injecting single handed, as needed when injecting upper arms.
