Becoming worried and anxious :(

Hi all!

Sorry to do another post :(

I put a post up the other day, finding that when I had walked up a hill a few days ago, my normal calf burning became intense and felt like my legs were going to buckle.

This same sensation happened again today, and ever since I’ve had a strange sensation in mainly one leg. It feels like my muscles are moving inside my calf, I wouldn’t say it was painful, just strange sensation with occasional pins and needles.

Leg isn’t swollen or discoloured, but due to health anxiety I always fear the worst (blood clot in this case, even though I know this is rare at 21 years of age). I have more than likely tired my muscles and feeling worse due to needing an injection.

I could just really use some advice or if anyone has had similar issues and if so how I can ease the sensation.

It’s also causing occasional achy pains in my knee and hips too!

So so sorry to post again, just really struggling with the anxiety of it today and always fearing the worst :(

So sorry you're feeling poorly. We all struggle at times and it helps to be in touch with this community. If you are b12 deficient, there are lots of symptoms that could be giving you trouble, including anxiety. Hang in there. Sending hugs!

Magnesium and potassium had been mentioned by deniseinmilden ask for them to be added to blood. It may be sorted when you get your injection . But would be good to check on bloods so tih know for another time??

Drink lots of water and eat some more of appropriate foods for thses minerals. Low ferritin caused me symptoms.

Hope you get sorted soon.

Hope you feel better soon. Before I started B12 injections I had achy joints and muscles and would feel them on any walks. I would also feel lightheaded and I had pins and needles in hands and feet. It was really hard to describe the muscle and joint pain, as it fluctuated a lot and wasn’t like anything I had felt before! I found that cold water swimming really helped ease it (before I knew if was B12 deficiency). I also used to get bad feet and calf cramps, but they have stopped since injections. Hope your’s improve.

hello Ellesbells12 . Weirdness abounds when you have B12 deficiency and worrying about what is going to go wrong or fall off next is entirely normal when you have no control over it. I get very worried and depressed when I need another injection and every new symptom makes me think I may have something else going on but recovery after more B12 has taught me not to panic. Write down the symptoms and tell the GP even if they don’t take you seriously. Keep a note of what you tell them and when and take the notes with you to any consultation. Don’t feel alone, there are others here who understand . Relaxation through tai chi or yoga helps me a bit though I can’t remember my Tai chi form at the moment 108 moves just won’t stick in my befuddled brain. X
