Hi,
Another new blog post on B12 Deficiency Info website
That is excellent. I will use that !
Which County sent out this letter? I cannot find 1000mcg B12 oral tablets on the NHS Drug Tariff. Something doesn't add up here. Is this because the "County" is buying this medication from their local supermarket!!! There is some evidence of B12 absorption if large oral doses are used but equally there is evidence to the contrary - "treat the symptoms not the blood tests"
Some 1mg tablets are mentioned in the British National formulary:
bnf.nice.org.uk/medicinal-f...
Without tariff prices! (And just why switch units to milligrams? In my book, stick to micrograms even when the number reaches 1,000, 5,000 or anything else, if there are any sub-milligram dosages.)
Funny how medics can at one moment refuse something because it is not on the tariff/not licensed. The next minute, advising some other thing despite that.
