I think you need a decent gap after the last injection to dk either test.

Blood tests are not required once o I jections

BNF guidelines say 2-3 months. Pound this out get tour Gp to read tgdm online

An active blood test if yoh want ig CSN bd done privately. I was thinking ov this bug would've been most useful before injections started so saved mg money.

My GP has insisted on a blood test taken a few days before my injection is due but they don't do active blood tests and I'm not sure she could understand an active blood test. She will not reduce injection time without another blood test but are concerned she could stop injection completely if the figures appear high enough to her( she keeps stating that medical science has not proved that 2 monthly injections help at all and basically rubbishes the perniciousanemiasociety as idiots)

Yes. I hope your doctor will read the bnf guidelines.

From what I’ve read, drs doing b12 blood tests lead them to think ‘you’re now ok’ and then withdraw treatment. I’m going to refuse to get my b12 tested now I’m on injections as it’s not relevant.

Hi,

I wrote a detailed reply on another forum thread with links to B12 books, B12 websites, UK B12 documents/articles and other B12 info.

There may be something useful in it for you.

No, it doesn't have to be an 'Active' B12 test. Whatever sort of test you have the results will be sky high, so the test will be pointless. That's why the BCSH say onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi...

" No

further testing for cobalamin levels is required."
