I am assuming that you were given B12 injections in the first place because your GP suspected you had B12 deficiency and requested a blood test that confirmed a below-range level. Can you give more information, such as how many injections you were given and at what frequency ? Are you based in the UK ? This might help you to get advice from here about what you could do next.

Quite often, people with B12 deficiency also have problems with ferritin and folate levels being either below range or at a low level but within range. This might be what is happening with you. If your injections have been doing their job, your serum B12 level, if measured in the hospital, would have been high.

I have my folate and ferritin checked regularly and quite often have had to take supplements to raise one or the other or both. My B12 level is never checked as my GP knows that this would be pointless: it will always be high as long as I'm having injections.

Your post title includes "...my notes removed from my house, no reason given..."

I'm not sure what these notes might be (copies of medical records? blood test results ?) but clearly this is worrying for you.

Do you think that the paramedics might have picked them up as being useful information for A&E ? I'm wondering if it's possible that someone else in your house might have misplaced them or put them somewhere for safekeeping while you were in hospital ?

If this is the case, and they are lost, you can request further copies from your practice. There may be an admin charge, but it should be a reasonable one.

I may have got this completely wrong. If you feel up to a reply, let me know, okay ?
